About UrologyWatch

UrologyWatch is a neutral, daily urology news aggregator for urology providers, trainees and patients. Each morning it reviews new articles in major urology and general medical journals, regulatory announcements, society and trade news, and newly registered clinical trials. It then selects the items most relevant to practice and summarizes them by subspecialty and cancer type.

How items are selected and ranked

  1. Evidence level. Regulatory actions and guidelines rank highest, followed by phase 3 and randomized trials, meta-analyses, prospective and retrospective studies, and then commentary and news.
  2. Source tier. Peer-reviewed journals and regulators rank above society and trade press.
  3. Practice impact. Whether the item changes what a provider can offer now.

Today's Top 5 are the highest-ranked items added in the last day or two. Common subspecialty sections show the last 7 days. Lower-volume sections (upper tract, adrenal, testis, penile, pediatrics, reconstruction) show the last 30 days.

How summaries are written

Summaries are generated by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, using only the text of the source item, and are written in original language. Every item links to its primary source, which should be consulted before acting on any finding. We do not reproduce abstracts, figures or articles. No sponsor, company or author pays for placement.
